Even though it's a lot of hard work to get an OES ready to go to a show - it's all worth it! There's a lot of things that you can do together with your dog. I happen to like going to dog shows, other people like to do obedience, agility or tracking. It doesn't really matter what you do together as long as you and your dog have a wonderful time.
