Where in Scandinavia is SWEDEN?

Maybe the first question should be, does this picture really show scandinavia? Well, what I remember, I learned in school even if it was a long time ago, that the scandinavian countries are Denmark, Norway and Sweden. This map includes Finland as well. Does it really matter if Finland is a part of scandinavia or not? For me, I couldn't care less. If it is, fine, this map includes Finland and if it isn't, that's fine too because then I was right. (I bet I'm right).

Sweden is the country in centre. To the west we have Norway, Finland to the east and Denmark to the south. The blue ring shows the region, Uppland, where we live.

The area of Sweden is 450 000 km². Sweden has about 100 000 lakes. The land area is 411 000 km². There lives about 9 million people here. The density of population is 21 citizens/km². 83% of the population lives in urban areas. 1.6 million people are living in Stockholm the capitol of Sweden. The increase in population is 0.3%.

Sweden is a monarchy with a parliamentary form of government. Our King, Carl XVI Gustaf, has only ceremonial functions. The parliament's members are directly elected by proportional representation for a four year period. We are allowed to vote from the age of 18. Women got the right to vote in Sweden year 1919.
